Our proposition, Living Tracks Lab, is a
transnational cooperation that focuses on the urban transformation of vast
brownfields located along railways tracks in Paris and Brussels.
Three main challenges are addressed in the
projects:
- Spatial challenge: Improving the left- overs,
themargins, the peripheries, using the connective and linear potential of the
railway structures and the experiential value of slowness and indeterminacy.
- Social challenge: Improving fragile
neighbourhoods while also reinforcing and advocating social and spatial
capabilities.
-Ecological challenge: Adaptation to climate
change and preservation of multi-layered ‘tiers paysages’ to create resilient
and dynamic ecologies.
The main transformation task we are pursuing
are:
- Transversal and integrative knowledge sharing
among experts,
- Bridging top down and bottom up actions.
Notre proposition, Living Tracks Lab, est une coopération transnationale qui se concentre sur la transformation urbaine de vastes friches industrielles situées le long des voies ferrées à Paris et Bruxelles. Trois principaux défis sont abordés dans les projets :
- Défi spatial : Améliorer les reliquats, les marges, les périphéries, en utilisant le potentiel conjonctif et linéaire des ouvrages ferroviaires et la valeur expérientielle de la lenteur et de l'indétermination.
- Enjeu social : Améliorer les quartiers fragiles tout en renforçant et en défendant les capacités sociales et spatiales.
- Défi écologique : Adaptation au changement climatique et préservation des « paysages à plusieurs niveaux » pour créer des écologies résilientes et dynamiques.
Les principales actions de transformation sont :
- Partage de connaissances transversal et inclusif par des experts,
- Lien entre les actions descendantes et ascendantes.
In Brussels: In the intersection of the local
and the metropolitan we use a succession of commissioned projects along the
tracks to test and impact the Brussels park system to create the “Loop”...
The figure of the loop doesn’t exist yet, our
aim is to make it visible on one side by curating a series of design forums
embedded in academia (ULB Brussels, Metrolab Brussels) and the cultural scene
(Brussels landscape biennal 2018) and, on the other side, by testing a
transitional implementation of the projects.
In Paris: The Avant Park is laboratory, a
learning community interacting with the design and construction of the final
park, the political agenda, and the construction of a new metropolitan
infrastructure (Charles De Gaulle Express). Taktyk explore the fringe
conditions and mobile actions within the boundaries of the site, with social and spatial interventions.

- Workshops with primary schools and teenagers
engaged by local artists- Research by design process and collaborations
with Saskia Sassen ( chair Global City / Fondation Maison des Sciences de
l’homme) and Richard Sennet (Teatro Mundi) to consider the site as a
laboratory, as a research space between disciplinaries,
Spatial Interventions:
- Workshops with the inhabitants to make
physical objects and actions on site: furnitures, playgrounds and temporary
gardens
A Bruxelles : A l'intersection du local et du métropolitain, nous utilisons une succession de projets commandés le long des voies pour tester et impacter le système des parcs bruxellois et créer la "boucle"... La figure de la boucle n'existe pas encore, notre objectif est de la rendre visible d'un côté en organisant une série de forums du design ancrés dans le milieu universitaire (ULB Bruxelles, Metrolab Bruxelles) et la scène culturelle (Biennale bruxelloise du paysage 2018) et, d'autre part, en testant une mise en œuvre transitoire des projets.
A Paris : L'Avant Parc est un laboratoire, une communauté apprenante en interaction avec la conception et la construction du parc définitif, l'agenda politique, et la construction d'une nouvelle infrastructure métropolitaine (Charles De Gaulle Express). Taktyk explore les conditions marginales et les actions mobiles à l'intérieur des limites du site, par des interventions sociales et spatiales mobiles.

- Ateliers avec les habitants pour fabriquer des objets physiques et des actions sur place : mobiliers, aires de jeux et jardins éphémères"
