Visual artist Maëlle Dufour and the landscape practice Taktyk Landscape + invite you to discover a little-known site and take part in the creation of a collective artwork.
Through a painting and/or writing workshop on fabric, participants will embark on a mental journey shaped by water, landscape, and urban infrastructures, creating a polyphonic exploration of water’s memories. The workshop will result in a temporary collective piece—an ephemeral moment of sharing in which fabrics absorb the presence of the site and the bodies gathered there.
Just beyond the North Wastewater Treatment Plant begins a threshold space—a point of transition where treated water leaves infrastructure and flows back into the River Senne. This little-known site plays a crucial role in Brussels’ contemporary water narrative. It is here that we propose to anchor a device for observation.
Our proposal seeks to observe, document, and interpret the meeting of treated waters released from the North Wastewater Treatment Plant with the Senne. Wastewater treatment plants reflect what our society consumes; this gathering therefore engages with questions of the Anthropocene, water infrastructures, and the visible and invisible effects of discharge on a fragile environment. This space of exit and return moves and questions us. We propose to create a shared framework to unfold an intertwined reading—to explore, to listen, and to reflect together.

L’artiste
plasticienne Maëlle Dufour et l’agence de paysage Taktyk Landscape + vous
invite à découvrir un lieu méconnu et à participer à la création d’une œuvre
collective. Un atelier de peinture et/ou écriture sur tissu, un cheminement
mental au fil de l’eau, du paysage et de nos infrastructures urbaines pour
produire une polyphonie autour des mémoires de l’eau. L’atelier vise la
production d’une œuvre collective éphémère, un moment de partage où les tissus
s’imprègne du lieu et des corps présents.
A la sortie
de la station d’épuration Nord commence un espace de bascule, le lieu où nos
eaux quitte les infrastructures pour rejoindre la Senne. Un lieu méconnu où se
joue une part essentielle du récit contemporain de l’eau à Bruxelles. C’est
dans ce lieu que nous proposons d’ancrer un dispositif d’observation.
Notre
proposition vise à observer, documenter et interpréter la rencontre entre les
eaux traitées issues de la station d’épuration Nord de la Senne. Les stations
d’épuration sont le reflet de ce que notre société consomme, ce moment
s’inscrit donc dans une réflexion sur l’Anthropocène, les infrastructures de
l’eau et les effets visibles et invisibles des rejets d’eau sur un milieu
fragile. Cet espace de sortie et de retour nous interroge et nous touche, nous
proposons de poser un cadre pour y déployer une lecture entrelacée, explorer,
écouter …
